Biomass Install

Increasing over the past number of years with the increase in cost of fossil fuels such as oil & gas residential and commercial customers have been looking at the integration of renewable energy sources to heat there home/business.

The biomass systems use fuels such as:

  • Logs
  • Pellets
  • Wood Chips

Each with its only particular suitability to the application.

A few examples of system which have been installed are below:

Duel Log / Pellet Burner

This system was installed in Eglish where a duel burner is fitted. The Logs can be used on the top half of the boiler whereas pellets can be used at the bottom. This is a 25kW boiler with a 1000 Ltr Buffer tank to store the excess heat.

A Low Carbon Building Programme grant of £1500 was used to aid this installation.

Log Buner:

This was a larger installation again assisted by the Low Carbon Building Programme.
In this instance the it is a 40 kW boiler with 2500 Ltr Tanks (Combined). A PLC is used to control the draw off and storage of the excess heat.
